Dream Catcher Commission Info

About My Dream Catchers:
I will make custom dream catchers to the best of my ability upon request. I hand-select everything that goes into these, and only choose the best of what is available. If something is below my standards, I will let you know about it before using it, and let you use an alternative or get a refund for that item if you do not approve.

Sorry about any prices I don't have up, if you ask I shall seek and provide answers!

The prices of dream catchers are based off of the cost to me. I don't make much money off of these, the only things I "profit" off of are the feathers (excluding the red feathers). There are a few things that are needed for basic dream catchers: a ring (for the frame), sinew (webbing), leather (wrapping the ring), beads, and feathers. I will include up to 3 plastic beads and 3 simple (most likely turkey-vulture) feathers at no extra cost, but any prettier beads or rarer feathers will come with a price. I can also include bones (selection will vary, if I can get any at all), and fur.

You may feel free to ask me anything about my dream catchers. If you are interested in an item I have listed and would like to see pictures, ask me. If I do not have the item on me I may not be able to get pictures, but I will give you a good description and price (I buy a lot of my stuff from local stores, and some don't allow me to take pictures, and I don't want to buy something if there's a risk that I won't get to re-sell it myself).

I can also try to make you a "shield" dream catcher(example NOT made by me: [link] ) using a rabbit pelt or deer hide. These will not be pre-painted with images (I do not have the talent to paint beautiful pictures on them!), however they're great for any artist who would like to paint on an image to their personalized dream catcher. These will not have webbing...though some day I may be able to put dream catcher webbing around the fur, or cut out the middle of the fur and make a dream catcher web in there (in the mean time it has not been tested, nor do I plan on testing it. Anyone who would like me to try this will get a discount, and get fully refunded if I find I am unable to do it). An example of that would be something like this (again, NOT made by me): [link]

So, Price List:

There's other beads as well, shell beads, and shiny black and white beads, and beads that have string wrapped over them (blue and tan colors only). But I Want...
Have something you own that you want on your dream catcher? Want an item I don't have listed? No problem! If I don't list something you want go ahead and ask me for it-I'll try my best to get said item (if I can get it, I'll let you know asap, and if I can't then I'm very sorry. I have searched for weeks before checking every store and even every local event happening before finding the item finally at a fair-so don't think I won't try my best!). And if you want something you personally own to be included let me know and send it to me! (note: I will NOT pay for the shipping of your item. Sorry, but hey, that's all you'll have to pay for it)

Shipping and Payment:
I now have Paypal, but appreciate old-school sending money in the mail (like a birthday card! haha). I will charge you for the shipping costs (don't worry, unless you get a skull or something it'll only be like $3) with the price of the dream catcher. I only accept requests within the United States.

How To Make A Request:
When making a request, please tell me all you wish to be included (what size, what color wrapping, beads, feathers, any extras, etc). You can tell me what layout you want for it (if you have one in mind), or you can leave it to me. I will need to know if you want a leather wrapping for the strands (and if so, same color as the leather wrapping on the ring? Or different? Or multicolored? -multicolor is not possible for an individual strand, but different strands may be different colors-) or if you want the sinew like the web (which can hold a wider variety of beads. I will also need to know what items you wanted on the web, and which ones you wanted on the strands. By request I can also make the middle strand start from the web instead of the bottom of the ring. If you include a tail (unless it is a small tail) you probably will have to replace one of your strands with that, please tell me which one. If you want more or less than 3 strands hanging off the dream catcher let me know, also let me know if you wanted one set of feathers, or two (or more...2+ will cost extra for feathers & beads though). Any other info I need I will ask you.

Complexity:
Want to know the limits to your dream catcher? Well, basically if it all fits without the dream catcher breaking, it's good. You can have a basic dream catcher (like so: [link] ...though that technically has 3 extra beads), or you can have one with stuff coming from it everywhere. You ask, I'll let you know. However, keep in mind that the more/bigger stuff you want, the bigger dream catcher you'll need. I can be gluing/tying stuff to the ring itself (like feathers, perhaps?), the web, and coming off the ring.

Trades:
I accept commissions and trades for any costume pieces or animal parts or jewelery items (yes I'll make multiple dream catchers with whatever on them to make the price equal). If you would like to make a different kind of trade though go ahead and ask, I'll let you know! If you would like to make a trade I'll need you to tell me what you want, then I'll tell you the cost, and then I expect to see an offer from you that would be close to if not the same price for you to make, and we each pay for our own item to be shipped (unless there is a major unbalance when comparing our costs). I would like to see an example of your work/item that you would be trading me. But don't be afraid, I'll probably trade with you no problem, lol.

What if I Have to Cancel Our Trade/Commission?:
Backing out is no problem! lol Totally don't blame ya. Just please please PLEASE let me know! Don't worry, I won't get mad or anything. Even if I've already started your dream catcher, it's ok, I really don't mind (I want to make a bunch to sell during the 4th of July anyways). I will refund any money you've paid me (if you have), and send back any items you gave me (if you did). However, if I used your money to purchase an item for your dream catcher (like a special charm or bead), I will not be able to refund that money. I can either give you the item I bought with it, or I will keep it. If I have to return items, I will charge you for this (the shipping fee). Sorry, but I don't want to lose money myself! If I keep any items of yours you may request that I hold them in case you want to finish this trade/commission in the future. If you don't make this request I consider the item as mine now, so speak up!

About The Fur and Bones/Skulls:
I buy a lot of my stuff from stores, including teeth, skulls, and fur. The smaller tails (aka anything but the big silver fox tails) are purchased from a friendly local trader store ( [link] ). I also buy any skulls from here, and buffalo teeth. I only asked about the fox tails/faces that they sell, and they come from a fur farm in Canada. The bigger fur tails come from another local store, and (though I have not asked) are also most likely farmed, and are left-over pieces that would otherwise be thrown away for making garments (including pillows, scarves, hats, jackets, purses, shoes, etc).
The bones and some skulls I will collect, just like many of the feathers. I do not kill anything (unless I accidentally hit a squirrel with my car), and will most often obtain road kill pieces. However, some raccoon parts I may obtain from a friend, whose dad shoots any raccoons that try to get into their garage and pester/attack their cat. But I work with animals that are already dead, I don't go out and kill animals just for the sake of an order.

This is a great idea! I think you should make the simplist dreamcatcher that can be made and take a picture of it so people know what to expect. The costs of the Crstyal pendants will vary a lot too..probably around $15-20 from my experience (they were purchased on ebay tho so yeah)

Best of luck!

Yeah, I should do that, lol, just no motivation to make something so simple, haha. There's a store up here that sells small-medium crystal pendants at a set price...I think they were like $15, but I need to check...that's also where I would get the fox tails (and I think they also have raccoon tails). They also sell nice rabbit pelts (including ones that are airbrushed to look like zebra stripes and leopard spots-AND they're soft) and skulls, but geeze, they're EXPENSIVE!

Thanks!

Very convenient! I bet the pelts (especially rabbit) look awsum! How do you intend to put fur on the dreamcatchers? also how will you get the skulls on them? There are som big skulls....

I want to pet the rabbit pelts now  So soft...

Lol, love. And yeah, I didn't find it until recently, but it's awesome!! They sell lots of neat stuff though, that'd be cool if you had one near you! I don't quite know how to do the fur...if I wanted to do a pelt, that'd be something that would take up the whole dream catcher, but the bits of fur I was guessing could be around the edges....not sure how it'd work, lol. And the skulls I'd try to do as a center piece (like the pelts)...try to do it like...well, have you ever seen the "shield" dream catchers? (the ones with just a picture in the middle of it) So make it connect to the skull like that. For bigger skulls I dunno though, lol, I guess I could only use like skunk and stuff.

Haha, they're nice when they get washed...so sooooooft.

I've never seen no sheild dreamcatchers..I'll look it up right now.lol but you say cyote skull in the thingy...you planning on using the whole skull? lol

Oooh, I see, lol. I went and got pictures of all of my beads though ('cept the cheap plastic ones...need to go find where I put those...)

There's an idea! And I dunno if that's what they're called exactly, just what I call 'em anyhow. But they're the ones with the picture on a cloth in the middle instead of a dream catcher web. Hmm, but yeah, guess a coyote would be pretty big, huh? Oh well, I'll take that off, lol. But I could still use the teeth (if I ever FIND a dead coyote, lol...though I'm glad if that means less are dying! Though there's this stupid girl who unfortunately sees me as a friend who says she's going to start shooting every coyote she sees on her property 'cause a few years back they killed her cat...poor 'yotes!).

Haha, if you ever wanted a cool rabbit pelt I could always get one for you and send it to ya!...though I'd expect to be payed back, lol.

lol YAAAAAY!!! posty? :D

lol I saws them! They so pretty! So you going to create some liket hat but fur instead of a picture? lol yes VERY big...need like SUPER SIZED dreamcatcher! lol yush teeth would be kewlz! awww..that's lame. That girl (no offense) is taking needless revenge. When an animal is killed by another it is a part of balance. (unfortunately! Lost my birdie to balance.. :() but iof you have to kill kill that one and don't hunt them all down! such a shame...oh wells....

lol Thankies! I'll think on it! Maybe some other time tho! pay back is always fun...

Working on it right now, lol. (they'll be on the journal...uploadin' the pics to my Photobucket 'cause I don't want them on my gallery here).

Yeah, though I was thinking it'd be awesome to have someone paint the backs of them, lol...if I could sell one to a good enough artist they could do that, buuuut I doubt they'd want to buy one, lol. Yeah, I mean, Kadota's cat was eaten by coyotes too and he's not stupid enough to go out shooting every one he sees. It's just the cycle of life, as suckish as it can be. It was years ago too, I'm sure it's not even the same coyotes she sees now that killed her cat. But all I can do is hope she has bad aim...

Haha, okies. I wanna see if I can get pics of those cool rabbit pelts...probably can find examples on the internet.

They're up! lol Kinda cruddy (that journal is such an eye-sore O-o;). I think I want to mass-produce some dream catchers....for the 4th of July...up here in our neighborhood there's a mini kind of carnival thing every year. There's booths selling things, and also games that cost tickets but give out prizes. Then I could also have examples of different kinds of dream catchers. Sound smart?
