My Dream Catcher

Description

Possibly my last dream catcher I make, haha, and this one is JUST for me!

This is a large dream catcher with brown deer leather wrapping and the same leather for the top strap thingy. The natural colored sinew web features a stone 'doughnut' pendant on the top, overlapped with a large tigerseye bead, and more tigerseye beads (and two green catseye beads) along the web perimeter. The center of the web holds a cross fox face. Hanging off of the ring on either side are more large tigerseye beads (I really love tigerseye and catseye beads, could you tell?), followed by turkey feathers with peacock breast feathers overlapping them. In the center is a blue goldstone pendant overlapped with a hemetite moon pendant, and below both of those is another peacock feather (this time the tip of a smaller tail feather, without the eye). Further down from these are two black feathers and some kind of brown feather my mom found for me recently while golfing. With this dream catcher I added on an extra ring on the back that allows me to attach one of my tails if I wish, and featured here is my rather large cross fox tail. I think that tail might be a bit too big though ^^; Looks like my face will have to not match the tail, unless I get another, smaller, cross fox tail...

Started this thing late last night, finished around 3 AM save for the face, and just a little while ago I finally got the face sewn on. Still trying to get the glue off of my fingers from yesterday, haha, but overall this didn't give me too much trouble (for once...). I accidentally didn't give myself enough sinew so there's a knot hidden by the fox face where I had to tie more on, haha, and I also had a bit of trouble with how I did the beads, since I had to do things in a weird way 'cause the holes were too small for what I had wanted to originally do. Also had troubles with the feathers, but glue fixed that ^_^ (though you can see where some of the glue dried on on one of the black feathers...oiye, stupid glue, you're supposed to be clear!)

Overall, I'm quite satisfied with how this turned out. It actually looks exactly like I wanted it to! Well, ok, the peacock feathers got a bit scrunched up from the gluing...but other than that it's just what I wanted it to be =) Which is good, 'cause I'd hate my last dream catcher to come out poorly, especially since this one is for myself XD
